Donald Trump's approval rating is plummeting due to the war and the economic crisis — Reuters
U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has dropped to a critical low of 36%, the worst figure since he returned to office.
The main reasons for voters’ disappointment are the sharp rise in fuel prices and public opposition to the military conflict with Iran.
According to a recent Reuters poll, current figures differ significantly from the start of his term, when the US president had 47% support.
Over the past year, his approval rating has fluctuated around 40%, but it has now approached the record lows of previous administrations.
The economic situation is causing the most concern among Americans, as only 29% of citizens approve of the White House’s current economic policies.
This is the lowest result in the entire history of Trump’s presidency, which turned out to be even worse than Joe Biden’s lowest economic ratings.
The public is also showing increasing dissatisfaction with foreign policy, particularly military actions in the Middle East.
The poll also showed that only 35% of Americans approve of U.S. strikes on Iran, down from 37% in a poll conducted last week.
Opposition to military operations continues to grow across various segments of the population. About 61% disapprove of the strikes, compared to 59% last week, indicating a rise in anti-war sentiment in the country.
Americans view the current strategy as a threat to their country’s future. According to the latest poll, about 46% of respondents said that a war in Iran would make the U.S. less safe in the long term.
Only a quarter of those surveyed believe the conflict will have positive consequences for national security. Just 26% of respondents said it would make the country safer, while the rest said it would have no significant impact either way.
The overall perception of the country’s economic condition remains pessimistic regardless of citizens’ political preferences.
The poll showed that already about 63% of Americans consider the U.S. economy to be “fairly weak” or “very weak.”
Interestingly, even supporters of the current administration share these critical views. This includes 40% of Republicans, 66% of independents, and 84% of Democrats, indicating a massive crisis of confidence.
As a reminder, Trump hinted at the end of the war against Iran, but this cannot be trusted.
Trump is also negotiating with Japan regarding its participation in the war against Iran.
