Rheinmetall has secured a record order backlog of more than €80 billion
The German defense conglomerate Rheinmetall has increased its order backlog to a record high of over 80 billion euros.
This growth was driven by new contracts with the Bundeswehr for kamikaze drones and a package of defense orders from Romania.
In the second quarter of 2026, the company’s revenue rose by 69% compared to the same period last year, reaching 3.3 billion euros. Operating profit totaled 562 million euros, exceeding analysts’ forecasts by nearly 20%.
Following the release of its financial results, Rheinmetall’s stock rose by more than 5%, although it has lost nearly 30% of its value since the beginning of the year. The Bundeswehr remains the group’s largest customer.
