Annual inflation in Latvia stood at 3.2% in August
In Latvia, the average level of consumer prices in August 2026 increased by 0.3% compared with July. Data from the Central Statistical Bureau, released on September 8, were reported by LSM English.
Monthly dynamics
The largest contribution to the monthly change in consumer prices came from rising prices in the transport group. In particular, prices for transport fuel increased.
At the same time, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages declined. In particular, potatoes, cheese, bread and coffee became cheaper.

Annual indicators
Compared with August 2025, the average level of consumer prices in August 2026 was 3.2% higher. The annual figure was influenced most by rising prices in the transport group, primarily for fuel.
Compared with the average price level for 2025, consumer prices in August 2026 were 3.4% higher. Prices for goods rose by 1.8%, while prices for services increased by 7.4%.
