Russia has announced the delivery of nuclear munitions to Belarus
The Russian Federation has officially delivered nuclear munitions to field storage sites belonging to a missile brigade stationed in Belarus.
This transfer took place as part of large-scale joint nuclear exercises between the two countries, which are being held from May 19 to 21, 2026.
The military command cites the main objectives of these actions as testing combat readiness and strategic deterrence against a potential adversary.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the “rehearsal” of receiving special munitions for the Iskander-M missile system, equipping launchers with them, and covertly moving them to a “designated staging area” to prepare for missile launches.
Over 200 missile launchers, more than 140 aircraft, 73 surface ships, and 13 submarines are involved in the current maneuvers.
The total number of personnel participating in the exercises is 64,000 military personnel.

Ukraine reacted sharply to the joint nuclear exercises of Russia and Belarus, stating that they violate international treaties and pose a threat to global security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Moscow is effectively turning Belarus into a nuclear springboard near NATO’s borders.
