Large-scale construction has begun in Alabuga: what satellite images reveal
Large-scale construction of new production facilities has begun within the Alabuga Special Economic Zone. Recent satellite images confirm the active construction work, showing prepared construction sites and the emergence of new infrastructure.
The changes observed indicate an expansion of production capacity within the complex. The new satellite images show a significant amount of construction activity, which may signal further development of industrial facilities in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
Work has begun in the southern section of the zone, where the development area covers approximately 340 hectares.
Construction of the new production facilities began in May 2026.
The facility is located about 1,200 km from the Ukrainian border, near the city of Elabuga in Tatarstan. It manufactures and assembles various models of Shahed/“Geran” kamikaze drones.
