Russian citizens are increasingly using accounts with foreign brokerage firms to transfer funds out of the country. The volume of such transactions began to grow significantly in late 2024, and from December 2024 through June 2026, Russian households transferred nearly 600 billion rubles to non-resident brokers.

From April to June, the volume of transfers ranged from 42.3 to 45.5 billion rubles per month, which is equivalent to more than $500 million. According to experts, a significant portion of these funds is actually being used to move capital out of Russia.
