A Russian clinic is reviewing its partnership with Pavel Durov following the Russian Federation's high-profile decision
The Moscow-based “AltraVita” clinic, which offers in vitro fertilization (IVF) services using donor sperm from Telegram founder Pavel Durov, has updated the information on its official website. Next to his name, a note has appeared stating that the businessman has been added to Rosfinmonitoring’s list of terrorists and extremists.
On July 29, Russia’s Federal Security Service announced the opening of a criminal case against Pavel Durov under the article on aiding terrorist activities. The very next day, July 30, his name was officially added to Rosfinmonitoring’s list. Following this, journalists pointed out that the “AltraVita” clinic continues to advertise an IVF program using donor sperm from the founder of Telegram.
The medical facility confirmed that the procedure in question is still available to patients. However, a few hours after the news broke, the clinic updated the information on its website, adding a note next to Pavel Durov’s name stating that he had been added to Rosfinmonitoring’s list.
Sergey Yakovenko, director of “AltraVita,” stated that the clinic does not rule out the possibility of terminating its contract with the Telegram founder. According to him, the clinic’s lawyers are currently analyzing the situation and examining the legal implications of continuing to work with Durov.
