Disappointment with the negotiations is pushing Trump to launch new strikes against Iran — CNN

U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified discussions about resuming full-scale military operations against Iran amid a stalemate in the negotiation process.

CNN reports this.

The main reasons for Washington’s hardening stance are the prolonged blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and the lack of a constructive response from Tehran.

The U.S. president has expressed deep disappointment over the Iranian leadership’s inability to reach a unified position on the nuclear deal.

According to Trump, internal divisions in Tehran are preventing the Islamic Republic from making real concessions, rendering the diplomatic path largely ineffective.

Iran’s latest official response has drawn an extremely sharp reaction from the U.S. administration.

The U.S. president publicly described Tehran’s actions as “completely unacceptable” and “foolish,” casting doubt on the very possibility of further dialogue.

Regional leaders and representatives from Pakistan have attempted to act as mediators, emphasizing that the current situation is a “last chance” for a peaceful resolution.

However, as diplomatic sources note: “Tehran, it seems, is not listening to anyone and does not take anyone seriously.”

There is currently no consensus within the U.S. National Security Council regarding the future strategy for deterring Iranian aggression.

Some Pentagon officials are actively lobbying for a shift to a phase of active operations, proposing to carry out precision strikes on key targets.

Hardliners believe that only forceful intervention can permanently weaken Iran’s military capabilities.

At the same time, another part of the administration is calling for restraint and the continuation of diplomatic pressure through international partners.

Particular attention is being paid to the role of Pakistan, which acts as a mediator in communications between Washington and Tehran.

U.S. officials have reasonable grounds to suspect that Islamabad may be softening Iran’s actual position to create the illusion of progress.

Trump denies the end of the war with Iran and announces new goals

Britain has called on Iran to fully open the Strait of Hormuz and restore international shipping, which has been operating intermittently since the situation escalated.

Recall that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not consider the war with Iran to be over.

Official Tehran refused to participate in the second round of peace talks with the United States, which were to take place in Islamabad.

Iran rejected Trump’s claims about transferring uranium to the U.S. and accused him of manipulation.
