Rubio and Bessent remained on the decoy plane after Trump's secret departure
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent remained on board the decoy plane in Turkey after President Donald Trump secretly left it and boarded another military aircraft. This was reported by BBC News, citing CBS News.
According to CBS News, on July 8, Trump boarded the plane along with Rubio, Bessent, and members of the press. The president then hid in a catering truck, which discreetly transported him to a military aircraft.

Rubio and Bessent remained on board the first plane and did not join the flight arranged for Trump due to security concerns related to Iran.
The first plane was designated Air Force One. Although Trump was no longer on board, it retained the call sign Air Force One, which turned it into a decoy. This call sign is used for any aircraft carrying the U.S. president.
