Saudi Civil Defense declares all-clear in Riyadh — Jerusalem Post
Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense on Saturday declared an all-clear after warnings of possible danger in Riyadh and the city of Al-Kharj east of the capital. These were the first warnings for Riyadh since Yemen’s Houthis intensified attacks on the kingdom.
Loud sounds in Riyadh
As The Jerusalem Post reports, a Reuters correspondent heard two loud sounds in the Olaya district of Riyadh. Civil Defense declared an all-clear after warnings of possible danger to Riyadh and Al-Kharj were issued for a second time.

Houthi statement and the UN position
The warnings came several hours after a Houthi military spokesperson said that unspecified actions in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, which he called criminal, had been disrupted. He blamed Saudi Arabia and said there was an intention to respond. The Saudi Arabian government media office did not provide an immediate comment on the statement.
The Houthis control Yemen’s most densely populated areas and a significant part of the country’s north. According to the publication, after announcing a naval blockade against Riyadh in July, they have been carrying out attacks on Saudi Arabia, including against Saudi vessels in the Red Sea. On Friday, the UN Security Council condemned the Houthis’ continued attacks on the kingdom, including strikes on civilian and energy infrastructure that injured civilians, including women and children. The Security Council also condemned the Houthis’ military escalation in Yemen.
