Shenyang has opened two new international TIR routes to Azerbaijan and Russia
On August 19, Shenyang, China, in Liaoning Province, simultaneously launched two international road routes under the TIR system—to Baku, Azerbaijan, and to Russia via Mongolia. This marks the first time two such routes have been opened simultaneously in the city, according to ECNS.
A shipment of locally produced frozen beverages was dispatched along the Shenyang–Baku route from the TIR Cargo Consolidation Center in Shenyang. The cargo underwent customs clearance and inspection before being loaded onto trucks.
The trucks will depart China via the Baketu border crossing in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, proceed to the port of Kurik in Kazakhstan, and from there, the cargo will be transported across the Caspian Sea to the port of Baku. According to ECNS, the entire route is expected to take approximately 13–14 days and should mitigate the impact of geopolitical conditions and extreme weather on transportation.

In total, 480 TIR trips were made from the center, and the total value of the transported cargo amounted to 272 million yuan, or approximately 40.42 million U.S. dollars.
