An ISS employee has publicly spoken out about being harassed by prosecutor Karim Khan – CNN
A former assistant to International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan publicly spoke out about his harassment in an interview with CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour.
The woman, a lawyer from Malaysia who asked to be identified only as Sarah, noted that the prosecutor had systematically increased his physical and emotional pressure on her since February 2023. According to her, she was not always able to resist because she feared losing her job and the opportunity to live in the Netherlands with her husband and son.
Sarah reported that the head of the ICC repeatedly engaged in sexualized acts toward her without her consent; in particular, during one of her business trips, he came to her hotel room, lay down next to her on the bed, and groped her body while she pretended to be asleep. She emphasized that there could be no question of mutual consent due to her subordinate position, and that because of the constant stress, she was subsequently placed under supervision due to the risk of self-harm.
Karim Khan categorically denies all allegations against him, stating that he has never engaged in any conduct that could be interpreted as inappropriate or offensive. The official links these allegations to his decision to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli officials on charges of war crimes. At the same time, Sarah categorically denied any connection to Soviet or Israeli intelligence agencies, emphasizing that she had successfully passed numerous security clearances during her years working at the court.
