Former Council of Europe Secretary General Torbjørn Jagland attempts suicide amid criminal case

Torbjørn Jagland, former Secretary General of the Council of Europe and former Prime Minister of Norway, attempted to take his own life after a criminal case was opened against him over possible connections to Jeffrey Epstein. His condition is critical, and there is a threat to his survival.

The Norwegian police tried to suppress information about the suicide attempt by making an agreement with the press, but one newspaper chose to prioritize freedom of speech and disclosed the details. Back in 2013, Epstein allegedly tried to use Jagland as a channel to approach Russian leadership to create a «new global form of money».

This suicide attempt highlights the gravity of the criminal investigation and may have further implications for the ongoing inquiries into Epstein’s networks and their international reach.
