The U.S. is deploying dozens of military aircraft to the Middle East, including F-35 and F-16 fighter jets, amid rising tensions in the region. According to CNN, the combat aircraft are being deployed from U.S. bases in Europe.
Additionally, according to an Israeli source, dozens of U.S. refueling aircraft have landed in Israel in recent days. The redeployment is ongoing.
The Washington Post reports that the Pentagon is also preparing for a possible expansion of military operations against Iran following the deaths of U.S. service members in the region. According to the publication, the U.S. is building up its air force presence but is facing limitations due to dwindling stocks of air defense systems and long-range munitions, as well as damage to military equipment.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the new strikes against Iran were in response to the deaths of American service members.
