Media: Trump Ordered the Repeal of NDAs for Former Government Officials in UAP Cases
U.S. President Donald Trump has directed federal agencies to rescind previous non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) for former government employees and contractors who are willing to provide information as part of investigations into unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). This was reported by “Ukrainska Pravda,” citing Fox News Digital and unnamed senior officials.
According to the publication, the decision does not entail a mass declassification of materials. Former employees and contractors who possess relevant information will be able to contact the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) or the presidential task force on UAP, PURSUE, without risking a breach of prior non-disclosure agreements.
Administration officials stated that the decision is intended to remove barriers for potential witnesses who may have withheld information out of fear of losing their security clearance or facing legal consequences. The information received will be reviewed in accordance with existing declassification procedures. Information that could shed light on UAPs may be made public.
The decision was described as a continuation of the Trump administration’s policy on disclosing documents related to unidentified phenomena. Previously, the Pentagon and AARO stated that they had found no confirmed evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial technologies or that the U.S. government had secretly studied craft of non-human origin. In May, the Pentagon announced the start of the release of government documents on UFOs following a directive from Trump.
