The U.S. released a video showing the boarding of a tanker that was attempting to break the blockade of Iran
U.S. Central Command has released a video of an operation by U.S. Marines to seize a tanker that was attempting to break through the naval blockade surrounding Iran.
The footage shows the troops boarding the vessel and taking control of it.
The command reported that, in addition to this tanker, three other vessels that attempted to breach the restrictions were redirected without the use of force. Another vessel sustained damage sufficient to bring it to a halt.
U.S. military officials did not provide details regarding the tanker’s name, its route, or its cargo. However, they noted that the operations were conducted to ensure compliance with the naval blockade and to maintain control over shipping in the region.
As a reminder, Iran claimed to have struck U.S. surveillance systems in Oman.
The IRGC announced a strike on a U.S. base in Syria.
