The U.S. has approved the sale of $11.9 billion worth of naval systems to Germany
The United States has approved a potential sale to Germany of combat management systems for surface ships worth up to $11.9 billion.
This was reported by the U.S. Department of State.
The department noted that it has already informed Congress about the proposed deal.
The sale is expected to strengthen Germany’s defense capabilities as a NATO ally and enhance the interoperability of its naval forces with those of the U.S. and other partners.
The main contractors are likely to be the American companies Lockheed Martin and RTX.
Zelenskyy announced the news regarding the Patriot missiles following a conversation with the NATO Secretary General.
Prior to this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Bulgarian partners for this decision and noted that it would help Ukraine strengthen its air defense system ahead of the upcoming heating season.
