The U.S. and Iran have exchanged fresh blows amid negotiations — CNN

On May 28, the U.S. and Iran exchanged blows once again. The parties have not yet released a full list of the targets and consequences of the attacks.

CNN reports this.

According to an unnamed U.S. official, the U.S. military struck a location in the Strait of Hormuz area that “posed a threat to U.S. forces and commercial traffic.”

In addition, four Iranian attack drones were shot down, and a ground command post in the coastal city of Bandar Abbas near the narrowest point of the Strait of Hormuz—from where another drone was to be launched—was struck.

The source described the actions as “purely defensive in nature and intended to preserve the ceasefire.”

Iran’s Fars News reported that explosions were heard in the Bandar Abbas area around 1:30 a.m.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps later announced a strike at 4:50 a.m. on a U.S. base, from which, they claim, the aforementioned strikes were launched.

Iranian sources also claim that the Iranian military opened fire on four ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, forcing them to turn back.

In Kuwait, authorities officially announced the activation of air defense systems due to the threat and warned that people might hear explosions from the interception of aerial targets.
