The U.S. and Iran will hold emergency talks in Qatar
Representatives from the U.S. and Iran will hold an emergency meeting on June 30 in Doha, the capital of Qatar. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the upcoming talks.
According to the U.S. leader, Tehran initiated the meeting. Trump stated that Washington had agreed to the Iranian side’s proposal to hold talks.
The talks will take place against the backdrop of yet another escalation in the Middle East. The day before, the U.S. launched strikes against Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a response to Iran’s attack on a commercial tanker.
