The U.S. and Ukraine Are Discussing a License to Manufacture Patriot Missiles — Rubio
The United States and Ukraine are continuing negotiations regarding the granting of a license to localize the production of missiles for the Patriot air defense systems. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made this statement during an appearance on *The Brian Kilmeade Show*. The official confirmed that the issue is on the agenda but noted that launching such production is a complex and lengthy process.
According to the head of the U.S. State Department, even if a positive decision is made, it will take several years to establish the necessary production infrastructure and build the factories. For this reason, a potential licensing agreement is viewed as a long-term prospect and will not be able to quickly meet Ukraine’s current needs for interceptor missiles.

The European Union has not made any new decisions regarding the transfer of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems to Ukraine. This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, following an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Ireland.
As a reminder, European countries have stepped up their search for interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, which they plan to transfer to Ukraine. Kyiv is seeking to strengthen its missile defense ahead of a possible new wave of Russian attacks this winter.
Earlier, Finland explained why it would not provide Ukraine with missiles for the Patriot system.
