The U.S. has resumed strikes on Iranian military targets
The United States launched a new series of strikes against Iranian military targets in response to Tehran's attack on U.S. forces stationed in Jordan.
According to the U.S. military, facilities belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were targeted.
Specifically, the following were struck:
- military command centers;
- missile systems;
- drone bases;
- coastal surveillance and defense posts.
The new strikes came a few hours after U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement, in which he promised to respond “very strongly” to Iran for its attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan.
The escalation came after several days of relative calm between the sides.
The day before, the U.S., together with Saudi Arabia, carried out strikes against Iranian-backed militants in Iraq.
According to preliminary reports, at least 20 militants were killed, along with six Iranian military advisers.
In parallel with the events in the Middle East, drones attacked two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers in an Egyptian port, causing fires on board.
The vessels involved were a floating storage unit owned by an American company and a gas tanker owned by a Greek company.
Responsibility for the attack has not yet been officially determined, and the circumstances of the incident are still being investigated.

As a reminder, U.S. President Donald Trump reacted strongly to the attack by Iranian-backed groups on U.S. military personnel in Jordan. He promised Tehran a decisive response, and Washington is already strengthening its military presence in the Middle East and considering new strikes against Iranian-linked targets.
