The United States has extended the license allowing the sale of international assets belonging to the Russian company Lukoil, which is subject to sanctions. The new deadline has been set for May 30.
This was announced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The previous deadline was set to expire on May 1.
The license allows for negotiations and the conclusion of conditional agreements with Lukoil for the sale of Lukoil International GmbH—the company that owns its foreign assets.
Since Washington imposed sanctions against Lukoil in October 2025, OFAC has repeatedly extended the deadline for potential buyers.
The U.S. has postponed sanctions restrictionson Lukoil’s overseas network.
Additionally, the General Staff confirmed strikes on Lukoil’s strategic refinery and Russian military facilities.
Drones attacked the Lukoil refinery and a thermal power plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.
