The suspect in the armed attack during the White House Correspondents' Dinner had written a manifesto in advance with the intention of attacking members of the U.S. administration.

CNN reports this.

According to sources in the White House, he gave the document to members of his family, who, in turn, handed it over to the police a few minutes before the incident.

It is noted that the suspect’s brother contacted law enforcement, informing them of the existence of the manifesto.

Investigators also interviewed the attacker’s sister, who said that he had a tendency to make radical statements and hinted at preparing for certain actions.

According to her, the man purchased two firearms and a shotgun, which he kept at his parents’ home without their knowledge, regularly visited a shooting range, and underwent training.

In addition, he was a member of the group “The Wide Awakes” and had previously participated in anti-Trump protests.

Later, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he had heard about the incident but was awaiting further details from law enforcement.

In the U.S., the identity of the suspect in the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump has been established. He turned out to be 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen of Torrance, California.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that law enforcement had detained the shooter following the shooting incident during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, which he was attending.

The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump canceled the American delegation’s visit to Pakistan, where talks with Iran were to take place.
