The court upheld the decision to remove the leader of Turkey's main opposition party
On Friday, a court in Ankara rejected an appeal by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) against the decision to remove its leader, Özgür Özel, from office.
This was reported by Cumhuriyet Daily.
The court’s decision is final.
At the same time, the CHP has also filed appeals with the Supreme Court and Turkey’s Supreme Election Commission, but no decisions have yet been made on these appeals.
As a reminder, Erdogan expects that a “peace table” will soon be set in Turkey to end the war.
Also, on July 16, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison for allegedly “threatening” the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor.
