The network of the World Congress of Ukrainians (WCU) has expanded with the addition of new organizations from Europe, Asia, and South America.
The association now includes both full and associate members, which is expected to strengthen the representation of Ukrainians at the international level.
Five organizations that have long been working to unite Ukrainians and promote national interests have been granted full membership status:
Netherlands: NGO “Ukrainians in the Netherlands”;
Turkey: Ukrainian Association of Culture, Mutual Aid, and Solidarity in Konya;
Azerbaijan: I. Franko Ukrainian Community (Sumgait);
Malta: Foundation of the Ukrainian Community of Malta;
Poland: “Ukrainian House in Warsaw” Foundation.
The network of UWC’s associate members has also expanded significantly, encompassing academic, cultural, and social initiatives in eight countries around the world:
Italy: Association for the Promotion of Socialization “Ucraina Più – Milano APS”;
Cyprus: “Ukrainian House in Cyprus” (Paphos) and the NGO “Society for Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship”;
Poland: “Ukrainian Scientific Diaspora in Poland” Foundation;
Kazakhstan: “Ukrainian Women in Kazakhstan” NGO;
Peru: Peruvian-Ukrainian Association;
Slovenia: “Ljubljana – Kyiv” Cultural Society and the Association of Ukrainians in Slovenia “Razom”;
Croatia: Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Society “Kobzar.”
“Thank you for being with us! Together, we are strengthening the global Ukrainian community, supporting Ukraine, and building a strong Ukrainian world,” the UWC noted in welcoming the new communities.
Expanding the UWC network is a crucial step toward strengthening cultural diplomacy, protecting the rights of Ukrainians abroad, and mobilizing international support for Ukraine amid ongoing aggression.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy helda strategically important meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan, focusing on strengthening security partnerships.
Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that during his visit to the Middle East, he reached an agreement on the supply of diesel fuel to Ukraine for at least one year.
Zelenskyy also signed an agreement with Qatar on missile defense.
