American journalist Tucker Carlson may be designated a foreign agent in the United States, with reports suggesting that the CIA is preparing a request for potential criminal prosecution. Carlson said the possible accusations are linked to his communication with people in Iran before the war began.
According to Carlson, US intelligence agencies may view those contacts as grounds for investigation. However, there has been no official confirmation from US authorities regarding the preparation of criminal charges.
Carlson was previously known as one of the most prominent supporters of former US President Donald Trump. The New York Times once described him as Trump’s “favorite host.”
However, their relationship deteriorated in March after Carlson publicly criticized the US military operation against Iran. Following those remarks, Trump distanced himself from Carlson and removed him from the MAGA movement.
