The conspiracy theory about Michelle Obama is gaining traction again: she is believed to be a man
During a UFC tournament in Washington, D.C., fighter Josh Hokit publicly repeated a conspiracy theory popular among the far right—that former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama is allegedly a man—after his victory.
The statement was made from the stage after the fight and drew a mixed reaction from the audience. At the same time, there is no evidence to support this theory.
U.S. media outlets note that such rumors have been circulating for years in far-right circles and are regularly debunked by fact-checkers.
Previously, similar hoaxes were spread about France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron, as well as singer Lady Gaga. The individuals at the center of such theories have repeatedly called them baseless fabrications.
According to Western media reports, pro-Russian bloggers and media figures often contribute to the spread of such conspiracy theories.
