Erdogan met with Putin and Lukashenko at the SCO summit
During the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held an informal trilateral meeting with the dictators of Russia and Belarus—Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. They discussed recent developments in the region, ceasefire negotiations, and Turkey’s accession process to the SCO.
During his speech at the summit, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is committed to resolving regional conflicts through diplomacy and dialogue. In addition, the Turkish president called for aligning the “Middle Corridor” initiative through the Caspian Sea with China’s “Belt and Road” initiative to ensure energy security and transportation links.
For his part, Lukashenko called for the creation of a “new security architecture” in his speech, while Putin stated the need to eliminate the factors that provoke armed conflicts.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which begins Monday in Bishkek, will bring together the leaders of China, Russia—the aggressor state—Iran, India, Pakistan, Belarus, and the countries of Central Asia.
