Trump has authorized the production of American missiles in Europe and Ukraine under license

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated his willingness to consider the possibility of licensed production of American weapons in Europe and Ukraine. This primarily concerns missiles for air defense systems, which are necessary to protect against Russian ballistic missile strikes.

Ukraine and its European allies are interested in expanding the production of interceptor missiles, but currently such munitions are manufactured exclusively in the United States.

One of the reasons for discussing a new model of cooperation is the depletion of U.S. missile stocks and the time needed to replenish them. In this regard, Washington is considering options for involving partners in the production process.

According to sources, Trump informed allies that he may grant U.S. defense companies permission to manufacture certain types of weapons under license in Europe and Ukraine.

Commenting on this issue to reporters, the U.S. president stated:

“They would like to be able to do this, and we will consider the matter.”

If such a decision is made, it could significantly speed up the delivery of air defense systems to Ukraine and strengthen defense-industrial cooperation between the U.S., European countries, and Kyiv. At the same time, no official decisions regarding the granting of licenses have been announced yet.

This was reported by Bloomberg.

Tests are currently underway in Ukraine on modernized R-60 air-to-air missiles, which are being adapted for launch from ground-based platforms.

Earlier, the Ukrainian company Skylab successfully tested a new directional anti-personnel mine, the “SHTORM-UA,” which is designed to protect positions and block enemy advances.
