Trump assured King Charles III of complete security during his visit to the United States

U.S. President Donald Trump has assured that the British monarch will be "completely safe" during the state visit, which begins on Monday, April 27.

These statements came amid a recent shooting incident at an event attended by the American leader, the BBC reports.

According to Trump, the White House grounds are highly secure, so there are no threats to the king and his wife Camilla during their stay at the residence. The visit’s itinerary includes an official meeting with the Trumps, as well as participation in events in the White House garden. The president emphasized that law enforcement agencies are fully in control of the situation in the government quarter.

Security concerns intensified following the events of April 25, when gunshots rang out during a correspondents’ dinner at the Hilton Hotel, prompting the urgent evacuation of Trump and the First Lady. The attacker, 31-year-old Cole Allen, was apprehended at the scene. Only one officer was injured in the incident, saved by his bulletproof vest; the president himself and the event’s guests were unharmed. Despite this incident, preparations for the British monarch’s visit are proceeding as planned, with the strictest security protocols in place.
