Trump Pledges Aid to Venezuela After Devastating Earthquakes
U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his readiness to provide assistance to Venezuela following two powerful earthquakes that struck the country and, according to preliminary reports, caused significant destruction and numerous casualties.
According to the U.S. president, both earthquakes were extremely powerful and had serious consequences for the people of Venezuela.
“The two major earthquakes that have just struck the great people of Venezuela were massive and have resulted in a huge number of deaths,” Trump said.
He emphasized that the United States is ready to provide the necessary assistance to the affected country.
“The United States is ready, willing, and able to help,” the U.S. president emphasized.
Trump also announced that he has already instructed all relevant government agencies to prepare for a rapid response to the aftermath of the natural disaster.
“We will stand by our wonderful new friends. The initial reports are grim!!!” the White House chief wrote.
At this time, official information regarding the death toll and the extent of the damage is being verified. Venezuelan authorities continue to assess the aftermath of the earthquakes and coordinate rescue efforts.
The U.S. leader announced this on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Earlier, the U.S. Department of Energy reported the removal of 13.5 kg of enriched uranium from a decommissioned research reactor near the Venezuelan capital of Caracas.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that as part of a potential peace agreement, Iran could transfer its highly enriched uranium to the United States.
At the same time, Trump once again repeated the threats he has been making in recent weeks: “If they agree, it’s all over; if not, we’ll bomb them.”
Officials in Tehran refused to participate in the second round of peace talks with the United States, which were to take place in Islamabad.
