Trump is considering an operation to seize enriched uranium from Iran, according to the WSJ

U.S. President Donald Trump is considering an operation to remove approximately 450 kilograms of enriched uranium from Iran.

This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources.

According to them, Trump has not yet made a final decision and is assessing the risks to U.S. military personnel, but he does not rule out this option, as it would help prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

One of the publication’s sources added that Trump has urged his advisors to pressure Tehran to voluntarily hand over the uranium as part of a ceasefire agreement.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt noted that the Pentagon is preparing various operational options “to give the commander-in-chief maximum freedom of action.” The Department of Defense and U.S. Central Command declined to comment.

Earlier, Axios reported that in early March, Washington was considering the possibility of small special forces raids to remove uranium from Iran, rather than a large-scale ground operation.

Iran does not intend to remove 300 kilograms of highly enriched uranium from its territory, but is prepared to reduce its enrichment level. Tehran plans to convey this proposal to the U.S. in the coming days. All of this is unfolding as U.S. President Donald Trump considers the possibility of a military strike against Iran.

Additionally, Iran could strike back at the U.S. and the global economy.

The U.S. is on the brink of conflict with Iran, while advisors are urging the administration to consider the economic consequences.

Sweden’s foreign minister has urged citizens to leave Iran immediately.

Iran has warned the UN of possible “legitimate” strikes against the U.S. military.
