U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the complete lifting of the naval blockade of Iran and the restoration of free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz are possible only after Washington’s demands are met.
According to Trump, the first and foremost condition is Iran’s final renunciation of nuclear weapons development. If this requirement is met, the Strait of Hormuz must be immediately opened to unrestricted international shipping without additional fees or restrictions.
The U.S. president named the complete demining of the waterway as the second condition. According to him, the U.S. has already neutralized a significant portion of the sea mines, and Iran must complete the removal of the remaining explosive devices.
The third requirement concerns the destruction of stockpiles of enriched nuclear material, which, according to Trump, remains buried underground following U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. He stated that this material must be removed and destroyed under international supervision.
The fourth condition is the coordination of relevant actions between the U.S., Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is to monitor the implementation of the agreements.
Trump also said that the parties have already preliminarily agreed on a number of secondary points, and final decisions on next steps are being discussed at the White House.
According to him, the issue of financial settlements between the parties remains open for now and will be resolved separately.
Earlier, Iran and the U.S. exchangedaccusations following new strikes.
The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant progress in negotiations with Tehran, noting that as part of a potential agreement, Iran could transfer its highly enriched uranium to the United States.
Iran’s Supreme Leader has bannedthe transfer of enriched uranium.
