Trump said he has a good relationship with Zelenskyy

U.S. President Donald Trump, following his meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the NATO summit, stated that they had developed a good relationship. He also expressed confidence that Ukraine has strong potential and a bright future.

During the conversation, Trump reiterated his desire to see an end to the war as soon as possible and commented on his relationships with the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.

The U.S. president said that the current NATO summit had been a success and expressed hope for an end to hostilities. “We want to see a ceasefire. I think President Putin wants the same thing,” Trump said.

He also spoke separately about his relationship with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the U.S. president, their relationship is good, despite the difficult moments that have occurred between the two sides in the past. “We have a wonderful relationship—from the Oval Office right up to today,” Trump said.

He also emphasized that he sees great prospects for Ukraine. “Ukraine has a great future. There is land here, there are assets, there are people—without a doubt,” the American leader noted. At the same time, Trump called both Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Vladimir Putin “difficult people,” without specifying exactly what he meant.

The meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the U.S. took place on the sidelines of the NATO summit. Among the main topics of discussion were strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, supplying missiles for the Patriot systems, as well as continued military support for Ukraine and exploring ways to achieve peace. Donald Trump made these remarks during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the NATO summit.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is ready to visit Ukraine “at the appropriate time,” but believes it would be best to do so after the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
