Zelenskyy Criticized Europe for Taking a Break Amid Russian Attacks

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian strikes on Ukraine on September 1 are effectively turning Ukrainian children into participants in the war. He also criticized European partners for not taking sufficient action during Russia’s massive attacks.

The head of state emphasized that Russian troops will continue their terror until they are forced to stop. Separately, Zelenskyy expressed dissatisfaction that, in his words, international partners have been on “vacation” for the past two weeks.

“The Russians are just completely out of control. It’s September 1st, kids. Even among enemies, there’s an understanding that children are children. But the Russians are turning children into participants in the war,” he said.

The head of state noted that the Russians will continue to do this until they are put in their place.

In addition, the Ukrainian president highlighted the weak response from international partners to Russian attacks.

“For the past two weeks, the whole world—Europe and the rest of the world, those who are helping us—has been on vacation. And that leaves a very unpleasant aftertaste. I can’t help but share it… you know that feeling… ‘diplomacy by the book.’ In other words, when it’s vacation time, it’s vacation time,” Zelenskyy said.
