Trump outlined possible options regarding Iran's enriched uranium in the event of a peace deal

U.S. President Donald Trump outlined possible scenarios for dealing with Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium in the event that a peace agreement is signed between the two countries.

He wrote about this on the social media platform Truth Social.

According to Trump, the U.S. insists on dismantling Iran’s nuclear program and removing or destroying all stocks of enriched uranium.

“Enriched uranium (nuclear dust!) will either be immediately transferred to the United States for return home and destruction, or, better yet, in cooperation and coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be destroyed on site or at another acceptable location, with the Atomic Energy Commission or its equivalent witnessing this process and event,” Trump stated.

The issue of Iranian uranium has become one of the key points in the negotiations, which are ongoing with the mediation of international partners. The U.S. insists on full control or the elimination of stockpiles, while Tehran takes a hard line on the sovereignty of its nuclear program.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakai stated that the issue of transferring or removing nuclear materials is not being discussed in the negotiations. According to him, the main focus is currently on ending hostilities.

Earlier, Trump also raised the possibility of even ground operations to control Iran’s uranium, underscoring the high level of tension surrounding the nuclear issue.

Iran stated that it had not agreed to transfer its stockpiles of highly enriched uranium and denied reports of a possible removal of nuclear materials from the country.

Iranian state media reacted to U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement regarding alleged agreements to open the Strait of Hormuz, calling it “incomplete and untrue.”

The U.S. reacted strongly to Iran’s plans to introduce a toll system for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that this is unacceptable and could derail any negotiations. Washington considers this strategic waterway critically important and will not tolerate its commercial or political control by Tehran.

As a reminder, Cuba has restored its power grid following a massive blackout.

Trump also confirmed the U.S. intention to intervene in Cuba.
