U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the country has sufficient funds to provide payments of $5,000 to every adult citizen if Republicans retain control of Congress.
According to Trump, implementing this initiative would be straightforward due to the government’s high revenue. At the same time, House Speaker Mike Johnson noted that such payments would require congressional approval and detailed consideration by lawmakers. In contrast, House Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries described the proposal as frivolous.
