Trump noted a "significant difference" between the strikes on Iran and Russia's attacks on Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump commented on his threats to strike Iran’s power plants in the event of a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
During a conversation with journalists, he was asked whether this differed from Russia’s actions in attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“I think there’s a big difference. If you look at the nuclear weapons they wanted to have… a lot of things are different. I’m also not a fan of what Russia is doing. But this is completely different,” Trump said.
He also called Iran “the embodiment of evil for 47 years.”
Additionally, explosions were heard in Tehran during Trump’s remarks.
Qatar will not mediate between the U.S. and Iran.
Trump authorized arms shipments to Saudi Arabia.
Negotiations with Iran forced the U.S. to postpone the strikes.
