Trump said he had ordered Iran to be destroyed if he were killed
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he had left clear instructions to launch an unprecedented strike against Iran if Tehran manages to carry out its plan to assassinate him.
“I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with. The only thing is, I’ve left instructions: if anything happens to me, just literally bomb them to a level they’ve never seen before,” Trump said.
At the same time, the U.S. president denied reports that Israel had allegedly provided new intelligence regarding preparations for an assassination attempt against him. However, he emphasized that the Iranian government has considered him its top target for years.
“No, no. Israel didn’t find anything. I’ve been number one on the hit list for a long time, and that’s just how life is. I hope you’ll miss me,” the U.S. president said.
According to Trump, he raised the issue of threats to his life during the NATO summit in Ankara, where he also sharply criticized Iran for attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, despite the current ceasefire and statements about intentions to de-escalate tensions.
“They had leaders; they’re gone. Then they had another group of leaders; they’re gone too. Now they have a new group of leaders—and they, too, may be gone, who knows!? And you know what? I may be gone, too, because I’m their number one target. They’ve been doing this for 47 years,” Trump said.
In addition, it was reported that after the NATO summit, the U.S. president changed planes on his way home from Ankara. The White House explained this move as an additional security measure related to threats against the American leader.
The U.S. leader spoke about this in an interview with The New York Post.
