U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the political situation in the United Kingdom and stated that Prime Minister Keir Starmer has “big problems.” The American leader spoke about the domestic political situation in the United Kingdom but did not elaborate on the specifics of his assessment.
He made these remarks on Friday, May 15, while speaking with reporters, according to Sky News.
As the U.S. leader was returning from China, he was asked about his position on Starmer.
"He has big problems," he noted.
Trump advised the “nice” Starmer to change his stance on two issues: energy and immigration. However, he did not say whether Starmer should resign.
"I think he’s actually a nice guy. He’s doing a very poor job on energy; he should open up the North Sea. That’s a tough one. Unless he can get a handle on immigration, where he’s weak," he added.
