Armenia's Central Election Commission has announced the final results of the parliamentary elections
Armenia’s Central Election Commission has officially confirmed the final results of the regular parliamentary elections, confirming a decisive victory for the ruling political party.
The main winner of the race was the pro-Western “Civic Contract” party, led by the country’s current Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan.
The release of the final figures sparked an immediate negative reaction from the government’s political opponents, who refused to recognize the election results.
According to official data from the election commission, public support was distributed among the political forces with a significant lead in favor of the current government.
The “Civic Contract” party won 49.745% of the vote, “Strong Armenia” — 23.271%, and the “Armenia” alliance — 9.923%.
Meanwhile, the “Prosperous Armenia” party, led by influential oligarch Hagik Tsarukyan, garnered only 3.989% and failed to clear the threshold for entry into the National Assembly.
In parallel with the election commission’s meeting, the situation in the capital began to rapidly escalate due to widespread discontent among the opposition camp.
A large-scale protest unfolded right outside the CEC building, where representatives of the pro-Russian “Strong Armenia,” the “Armenia” alliance, and “Prosperous Armenia” are demanding that the election results be annulled.
The rally organizers are alleging widespread violations and are calling on their supporters not to leave the square until their demands are met.
