Türkiye promotes COP31 presidency in New York — Anadolu Agency
During the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, United States, Türkiye is presenting preparations for its presidency of the 31st UN Climate Change Conference, COP31. The conference is to take place in November in Antalya, Türkiye.
Posters dedicated to Türkiye's COP31 presidency have been placed on the Turkish House, Turkevi, the country's diplomatic complex in Manhattan. Promotional vehicles with digital screens themed around the conference are also travelling around New York, including Times Square and routes to UN headquarters.
Erdogan's participation
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is to take part in a high-level climate meeting organized by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He is expected to inform participants about Türkiye's preparations to host COP31.

First Lady Emine Erdogan, who chairs the UN Zero Waste Advisory Board, is also to participate in events related to Türkiye's climate and sustainable development initiatives. Türkiye's Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and COP31 President Murat Kurum is holding a series of meetings in New York.
Exhibitions on the climate agenda
An exhibition and interactive installations have been prepared at Turkevi for international visitors. The display will combine artificial intelligence, sound, mapping technologies, immersive displays and art installations. Exhibits include an interactive installation featuring Caretta, the COP31 mascot, a three-dimensional model of the conference venue in Antalya, and a digital presentation of the COP31 action agenda.
A separate exhibition at the Glasshouse in New York will present Türkiye's climate vision, the COP31 action agenda, works by artists Ilhami Atalay and Ekrem Şahin, as well as a live performance by ebru master Garip Ay. Anadolu Agency reports on the COP31 promotion program.
