Tusk stated that Poland should participate in negotiations to end the war in Ukraine

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that any international negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine must include Warsaw.

According to Tusk, the Polish government is critical of the “E3” format, which includes the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. In his view, discussions about Ukraine’s future should not be limited to just these countries.

The Polish prime minister said he had discussed this issue with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who also has reservations about this format.

Tusk emphasized that decisions made without Poland’s participation cannot be considered binding for Warsaw.

In addition, he expressed caution regarding initiatives to begin negotiations with Putin as soon as possible.

“I am very cautious about the ideas being voiced in Western Europe regarding the swiftest possible start of dialogue or negotiations with Putin on Ukraine,” the Polish prime minister noted.

At the same time, Tusk announced that a broader meeting on Ukraine would be held in the coming days, to which, in addition to representatives from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Poland and Italy are expected to be invited.

In Warsaw, there are concerns that Poland’s absence from certain negotiations could signal attempts to sideline the country from the decision-making process regarding Ukraine’s future.
