Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk responded to the attack by two people on Ukrainian children in Bydgoszcz.
The incident involved a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old who were attacked by a man and a woman at a playground. Law enforcement is currently searching for the suspects.
Tusk stated that the attack on the children is absolutely unacceptable and runs counter to Poland’s interests.
The Polish prime minister also publicly addressed the attackers and urged them to turn themselves in to the police without waiting to be arrested.
According to Tusk, law enforcement plans to apprehend them by the end of the week. At the same time, the prime minister noted that turning themselves in voluntarily could improve their legal standing.
“You will be arrested by the end of the week. It will be much better for you if you turn yourselves in to the police today,” Tusk said.
Prior to this, on the evening of August 1 in the town of Kozhukhiv (Lubusz Voivodeship),an attackoccurredagainst three Ukrainian citizens—37-year-old Volodymyr, 32-year-old Vasyl, and 28-year-old Adelina. The incident took place on the private grounds of a hostel where the victims were staying.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław ismonitoring reports of the attack on three Ukrainian citizens in the town of Kozhukhiv, Lubusz Voivodeship, Poland. Polish law enforcement authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident and its possible motives.
