Bulgaria is proposing to terminate its security agreement with Ukraine
The pro-Russian political party "Vidrodzhennia" in Bulgaria has submitted a resolution to parliament calling for the termination of the security agreement with Ukraine. The initiative also calls for Bulgaria to withdraw its guarantees regarding the EU loan to Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros. The document is currently under consideration by the country's parliament.

The "Revival" party submitted a resolution to the Bulgarian parliament calling for the cancellation of the 10-year bilateral security agreement with Ukraine.
MP Petar Petrov, who presented the proposal, argued that the government approved it without parliamentary approval, that the document is “problematic” due to the agreement’s long duration, and that it poses potential risks to Bulgaria’s national security.
The security agreement with Ukraine was signed exactly one month ago, on March 30. Acting Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov signed on behalf of Bulgaria.
In addition, "Revival" submitted a separate draft resolution on revoking Bulgaria’s consent to state guarantees in the amount of 1.2 billion euros for a 90-billion-euro EU loan to Ukraine.
The party argues that there remains uncertainty regarding the repayment of the funds, as this depends on whether Russia will ever pay reparations in the future, whereas this money should first and foremost go toward the needs of its own citizens amid a difficult economic situation.
