A family from Chernivtsi, who were returning from vacation, died in a traffic accident in Bulgaria
Four Ukrainian citizens from Chernivtsi were killed in a fatal traffic accident in Bulgaria. The accident occurred on July 24 when a truck collided head-on with a minivan carrying a family returning home from a vacation in Greece.
According to Bulgarian police, the minivan was carrying a Ukrainian family—four adults and two children. The grandmother, grandfather, mother, and an 8-year-old boy were killed. A 12-year-old boy and his 43-year-old father were hospitalized in intensive care.

Information has appeared on social media that the Kalinichenko family from Chernivtsi died in the horrific accident. Funds are currently being raised to bring the victims home for burial.
The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. The cause is under investigation. It is known that an elderly driver was behind the wheel of the minivan. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that he fell asleep or suffered a sudden health emergency.
“According to preliminary information, the passenger car veered into the oncoming lane for no apparent reason and collided head-on with a truck. Evidence at the scene indicates that the truck driver did everything possible to avoid the collision,” said Chief Inspector Lychezar Blyznakov, spokesperson for the Traffic Police Department of the National Police Headquarters.
The truck driver did not sustain serious injuries, according to BGNES.
