Hungary condemned Russia's attack on the Latvian consulate and the violation of Romania's airspace

On July 25, Hungary officially condemned the Russian attacks that damaged the building of the Latvian Honorary Consulate in Sloviansk. Budapest also expressed concern over incidents involving drones that violated Romania’s airspace.

This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán.

“Hungary strongly condemns the Russian Federation’s attacks targeting the civilian population, as well as the strike on the building of the Latvian Honorary Consulate in Sloviansk. We express our solidarity with our ally, Latvia,” Orban said.

She emphasized that deliberate strikes against the civilian population and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable.

“Hungary also condemns the repeated drone violations of Romania’s airspace, the sovereign territory of an EU member state and NATO ally,” Orban added.

As a reminder, a Romanian F-16 shot down a drone over Romanian territory.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian military carried out more than a thousand strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. Ten people were injured as a result of the attacks on Zaporizhzhia, and residential buildings, infrastructure, and vehicles were damaged. In total, 48 settlements in the region came under fire.

In the Kherson region, 15 civilians were injured over the past day due to Russian attacks. Russian forces struck settlements in the region with drones and artillery, damaging residential buildings and vehicles.

An explosion was heard in Sumy while an air raid alert was in effect in the region. There is currently no official information regarding the cause of the explosion or its possible consequences. The air raid alert was declared in the region due to the threat of Russian strikes.
