In Britain, a Russian spy has been accused of plotting sabotage at drone factories – Sky News
In the United Kingdom, 31-year-old Joshua Kammidge has been charged with aiding a foreign intelligence service and plotting to sabotage drone manufacturing facilities in Swindon. According to investigators, the suspect acted on behalf of Russia by conducting reconnaissance of the area and surveying four companies involved in drone manufacturing.
According to the indictment, between March 27 and September 5, the man maintained contact with an individual linked to the “GRU Volunteer Corps” and received instructions from that person. He sent his handler screenshots from Google Maps showing the locations of the factories, detailed information about the operations of one of the companies, and inquired about a device for blocking Wi-Fi.
The suspect was arrested by officers from the police’s counterterrorism unit, after which law enforcement conducted searches at several addresses in Swindon. During a hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Joshua Cummidge pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody; the case is scheduled to be transferred to the Old Bailey criminal court in London on September 25.

The German governing coalition is discussing the possibility of closing the Russian state-run cultural center “Russian House” in Berlin. The discussion intensified following the drone incident at Leipzig Airport, which German authorities view as a possible part of Russia’s hybrid activities.
