A large wild cat was spotted in the Czech Republic; police have warned the public

In southern Czech Republic, law enforcement officials are investigating reports of a large wild cat. The animal was reportedly spotted several times over the weekend near a number of towns.

According to police, several reports were received over the weekend regarding the appearance of a large cat in the Tábor area, near the towns of Roudná and Dlouhá Lhota. Police also released a video filmed by locals showing a black predator.

In addition, according to eyewitnesses, a similar animal was spotted in other parts of the country last week. Police believe that all these sightings involve the same individual.

"The animal is on the move and may appear in other locations. We ask the public to be cautious when spending time in nature. Police have informed local community leaders and are cooperating with the Regional Veterinary Administration and hunting associations,” said Lenka Krausová, a spokesperson for the South Bohemian Regional Police.
