The State Duma claimed that the Russian military has an "advantage" over the U.S. military
The Russian State Duma has claimed that the Russian military allegedly surpasses the U.S. armed forces in terms of combat capabilities.
In particular, Andrei Kartapolov, chairman of the Defense Committee, claims that the U.S. military “falls short” of Russia’s capabilities and can only “bomb and report on successes,” while the Russian army, according to him, “operates differently.”
At the same time, experts note that the pace of Russian troop advances in 2025 was the slowest in over a century of modern warfare.
According to analysts’ estimates, at the cost of significant losses, Russia was able to capture only about 0.8% of Ukraine’s territory over the course of a year, and in some areas, its advance amounted to only tens of meters per day.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, since the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have liberated more territory in the south (over 400 square kilometers) than the invaders were able to occupy during the same period in the east.
